On 24 June, the Retail Networks Development Union participated online in the Sustainable Retail Conference.
The conference addressed key trends shaping the future of the retail sector. Against the backdrop of changing family structures and the rapid growth of e-commerce, discussions highlighted how consumer behaviour is being reshaped, with the agility of smaller retailers and the trusted relationships established by larger retail networks identified as important competitive strengths.
The agenda also focused on sustainable growth models adapted to local market dynamics, the introduction of QR-based digital product passports containing information on products’ carbon footprints and composition, and the redistribution of usable goods through alternative sales and social support channels.
The discussions once again demonstrated that sustainability is no longer a separate area within retail, but an integral part of business models, technology and consumer relations.
We thank the Food Retailers Association (Gıda Perakendecileri Derneği) for organising the conference and for the invitation.
