Azerbaijan Food and Beverage Industry Association and RNDU sign Memorandum of Understanding

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Azerbaijan Food and Beverage Industry Association and the Retail Networks Development Union.

The Memorandum provides for the development of dialogue between food and beverage producers and retail networks, raising local producers’ awareness of the requirements of modern retail, and strengthening cooperation on product quality and safety, supply and logistics. The document also provides a framework for cross-sectoral exchanges of information and experience, working-level discussions and business meetings.

The Memorandum also seeks to strengthen the participation of sectoral associations in the preparation and discussion of draft regulatory legal acts affecting the food and beverage industry, retail trade and related sectors.

By participating in public discussions, public hearings, written consultations and public consultations on draft legal acts, as provided for under the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Public Participation”, the parties aim to communicate their members’ practical experience, views and proposals to the relevant authorities.

This cooperation will help ensure that the sector’s position is taken into account at an early stage of the decision-making process and contribute to the development of clearer, more effective and practically applicable regulations.
