Azerbaijan, represented by the Retail Networks Development Union (RNDU), has been admitted to the Federation of Asia-Pacific Retailers Associations (FAPRA). Bringing together retail organisations from Japan, South Korea, Singapore, China and other countries across the region, FAPRA is one of the principal international cooperation platforms for the Asia-Pacific retail sector.
The decision was taken at the FAPRA Heads of Delegations meeting held in Tokyo as part of the 22nd Asia-Pacific Retailers Convention & Exhibition - APRCE 2026.
During the meeting, Araz Imanov, Chair of the Board of RNDU, delivered a presentation on Azerbaijan’s retail sector and the work of the Union. The presentation highlighted the sector’s economic and social role, public-private dialogue, digital payments, logistics and supply chains, as well as Azerbaijan’s growing importance for trade and logistics between Europe and Asia.
Membership marks a new stage in the development of relations between Azerbaijan’s retail sector and the Asia-Pacific region.
